The City of Chanute is now accepting applications for a Pipefitter II in the Gas Utility Department. Responsibilities include but not limited to assisting with the installation and maintenance of a natural gas distribution system. Position requires a high school diploma or GED, possess or ability to obtain a Kansas CDL Class A driver’s license. Must have experience operating various hand and power tools, previous heavy equipment operation including excavation and boring equipment. Prior pipefitter experience a plus. Position is subject to call out & requires living within a ten-mile radius of East City Complex located at 1002 East 14th. Starting wage of $21.85/hour with 6-month step increase.
