This is the current plan for 5 year Fiber expansion in the city of Chanute. Each neighborhood or expansion area is called a "PON" (passive optical network). These areas highlighted are boundaries set by engineers. They are based on the direction electrical utility poles currently travel through town.
This map highlights the 3 PONs that will begin to be built-out in the year of 2022 and complete in 2025. Plans are subject to change subject per commission ruling or material shortages. The 3 neighborhoods set for 2022 will begin to be built out in the month of September this year (2022).
