Chanute Art Gallery
The Chanute Art Gallery was founded in 1973 by a group of women with a vision of a strong arts community in Chanute. After having been located in the Tioga Hotel and the Bailey Bank Building, the Gallery has been located at 17 N. Lincoln for more than 30 years. Four buildings were combined to create the current space. Elinor, Ellie, Mccoy was the driving force for the first 40 years. Since 2013 the Gallery has be directed by a nine member working Board of Directors.
The purpose of the Gallery is to support and encourage the advancement of the arts in Chanute and the surrounding area; to collect, preserve, maintain, and exhibit the collections and works of art therein which are held in trust for the benefit of Chanute and the surrounding area
November 8 through December 24, 2025
The Festival of Trees returns with a dramatic display of twenty-two Christmas Trees plus a number of displays of various Christmas decorations. Each tree is decorated by a group or organization using their own theme to tell their story. Trees vary from more traditional to modern versions of story telling. The Chanute Library tree introduces the 2026 Summer Reading Program theme while Glenda Bruner and Suzanne Woodard planned and worked all year to grow, collect, dry and create a breath-taking tree from nature by way of their gardens. The list goes on to more traditional trees, such as BPW's Nativity Tree.
Gallery Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 4:00 pm.
Receptions will be from 5:00 to 7:00 on December 4 for the Parade of Lights and on December 14 from 1:00 to 2:30 which will feature the CHS Poetry Club presenting selected poetry readings.
