Overview & Requirements

No person shall sell or store fireworks for the purpose of ultimate sale at either retail or wholesale within the city without having first obtained a license therefor and complying with the provisions of Title 8 - Health & Safety Fireworks of the Municipal Code Book and the regulations relating to the storage, sale and handling of fireworks by the Kansas State Fire Marshal.

License Issuance
To obtain a license please return the Fireworks Application with the a nonrefundable application fee to the City Clerk's office. The Fireworks Application fee can be found under the City Clerk's department City of Chanute Fees.

Important Dates

Sale of Fireworks permitted June 29th - July 5th.

Use of Fireworks permitted on the third and fourth days of July between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m.
