The City of Chanute provides electric services inside the city limits and within a three-mile radius outside the city limits. The Electric Department consists of Electric Production and Electric Distribution & Electric Meters.
In 2016, the City of Chanute's Electric Utility earned a Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3)1 designation from the American Public Power Association for providing reliable and safe electric service. See the Press Release here.
