[ARCHIVED] Annual City Clean-Up & Landfill Week

The City of Chanute will have City Clean-Up & Landfill Week, Monday, April 26th, 2021 thru Saturday, May1st, 2021.  

This is an opportunity for City of Chanute RESIDENTS to dispose of items too large for normal refuse collection, EXCLUDING LARGE CALIPER TREES (OVER 6” IN DIAMETER), TIRES, LEAVES, GRASS CLIPPINGS, AND CONSTRUCTION/REMODELING MATERIALS.  Items must be bundled, bagged, or boxed and placed next to the curb.  There will be no alley pick-ups for these items.  Pick-ups will be made on the same day as normal refuse collection.  Items should be placed at the curb by the evening before the scheduled pick-up.  No call backs can be made. 

City of Chanute RESIDENTS will have FREE access to the City Landfill, EXCLUDING TIRES, LEAVES, GRASS CLIPPINGS, AND CONSTRUCTION/REMODELING MATERIALS.  Landfill hours during this week are Monday through Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Proof of residency in the city limits is required to bring items to the landfill free of charge.  Without proof of residence, you will be charged the regular landfill fee. 

The City of Chanute host an Annual City Clean-Up & Landfill Week during the spring of each year.  City of Chanute residents are reminded that they can schedule a free dumpster twice a year to be set at their residence to dispose of the same items accepted during City Clean-Up & Landfill Week.  Please contact the City Landfill at 431-5268 to schedule a dumpster or for information about the Free Dumpster Program.  Free dumpsters will not be set during clean-up week. 

All clean up materials need to be unloaded by 5pm.  Please make sure you arrive with plenty of time to unload.   

Commercial loads will be charged the regular landfill fees.
