Adopt a Parks Program Guidelines

Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in the Adopt-A-Park program of the City of Chanute. Enclosed in this packet you will find:

- Information regarding the Adopt-A-Park program that provides guidelines as well as budgeting and general information. Safety information is also included.

- A list of possible projects, which is included as a reference only. The Parks Advisory Board welcomes all suggestions for projects whether big or small. However, all projects must be approved by the Parks Advisory Board and the City’s Parks Department.

- An application form to adopt a park. The Adopt-A-Park application form should be returned to Dan McMillan, Park and Cemetery Supervisor for the City of Chanute at P. O. Box 907, Chanute, KS 66720. Once this form is received and reviewed by the Parks Advisory Board, the person listed on the form will be contacted to work out the specifics of the project.

All citizens are invited to be a part of the Adopt-A-Park program. You don’t have to be a formalized group to take on a project. Several neighbors or friends can band together or you can work alone. Projects can be any size and can be one-time or ongoing.

We look forward to working with you to make the Chanute parks system something of which all citizens can be proud.

Sincerely,

Chanute Parks Advisory Board
