Located at 35th and South Santa Fe, Santa Fe Park is the largest
park in Chanute, providing a shady, scenic area for picnics. The park contains
three playgrounds, special playground equipment including an
old steam engine. Other facilities include a basketball court, 6 lighted ball
diamonds, a sand volleyball court, and a lake for boating and fishing.
The Santa Fe Safari
Campground has 30 stalls with full service hookups.
There are 14 sites adjacent to the Safari Golf Course and 16 sites near the
intersection of 35th and Santa Fe.
Availability is on a first come first served basis.
Fees: no charge for the first
48 hours, then $10.00
per day. The
Honor System is used for fee collection.
There is a limit of 10 days in any given 30-day period.
The sites are paved. Electricity
and water hook-ups are available, as well as, a dump station.
Public rest rooms are in the area and have shower facilities.
