Community Buildings

The Central Park Building is available to rent for bridal showers, wedding receptions, baby showers, birthday parties, business meetings and other special events. 

Central Park Pavilion will accommodate up to 300 people. Tables, chairs and a kitchen are available at Central Park. 

NO SMOKING OR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE ALLOWED AT THE FACILITY.

Shelter House Reservations

For information on Shelter Houses contact the Parks Department at: (620) 431-5250

1. Reservations must be made during the calendar year, e.g. not for the following year.
2. Written applications are required and will be approved based upon order received.
3. Reservations shall be submitted to the Public Works Complex, 1002 E. 14th Street, at least 14 days in advance of requested date.
4. Shelters may not be reserved for more than 4 hours. 
5. Reservations will be accepted for groups of 100 or more. If a shelter has not been reserved within 14 days of the given date by such group, the shelter may be reserved for a group of 25 or more. Groups of 25 or less may utilize a shelter on a first come, first serve basis if not reserved or already occupied.
6. Applicants and the Police Department will receive a written confirmation of the reservation.
7. Contracting party must be at least 21 years of age. Contracting party is responsible for the conduct of their activity and the behavior of those in attendance. Charges for damage or breakage will be made if necessary.
8. Contracting party is responsible to leave the area clean and neat in appearance. Place trash and garbage in proper receptacles.
