Doing Business

Chanute is a great place to live and conduct business! Citizens in Chanute, both corporate and residential, enjoy the best of life in the heart of Southeast Kansas. Chanute offers the benefits of life in the Midwest – quality safe schools, friendly people, low cost of living, honest hard working people, very little crime and traffic problems, and clean quiet neighborhoods. However, Chanute is only a short drive from several large metropolitan areas and their amenities.

The City of Chanute is very proud of its businesses and supportive of their efforts, through a wide range of policies, services and incentives. The City of Chanute has developed cooperative and productive economic development partnerships with the Chanute area Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Chanute, Unified School District #413, Neosho County Community College, the business community and others. The purpose of these partnerships is to make Chanute the best place to live and operate a business.

Chanute’s people, their dedication and sincerity, are prime reasons for staying here (Chanute).  Four generations of the Sunderland family – and,  in some cases, four generations of Chanute families  have been involved in making Ash Grove a success.  We have worked together as a family, as neighbors  to build a business that helps build our community  and our nation.
