Electric Rates:
Since 1903, the City has owned and operated
an electric utility, generating and distributing to approximately 4,641
residential, 1013 commercial and 124 industrial accounts within the City and
a three mile radius. The City has three power plants and 150 miles of
electric lines with a peak operating load of 58 mega watts per year.

All industrial and commercial customers are
subject to demand billing. After the initial billing month, the demand
billing is the highest demand established in any 15-minute period during
the billing month but not less than 80% of the highest demand billed
during the preceding eleven months.
